Giveaway – The Duke & The Pirate Queen

I have received my author copies of The Duke & The Pirate Queen! Therefore, it is time for the Traditional Giving Away of A Signed Advance Copy.

Comment on this post between now and midnight, U.S. Eastern Time, on November 14th. On Monday, November 15th, I’ll use a randomizer to choose a winner and announce it in the blog.

It’s not required, but I’d appreciate it if your comment was amusing or entertaining in some way. For instance, you could tell me why you are special and should win a free book. Or how you are the biggest pirate fan ever. Or how much you hate pirates but have a thing for privateers. Etc.

It doesn’t matter where in the world you live; if you win I will ship the book there. Except if you live off-planet. Then, we’d have to talk logistics.

About Victoria Janssen

Victoria Janssen [she, her] currently writes cozy space opera for Kalikoi. The novella series A Place of Refuge begins with Finding Refuge: Telepathic warrior Talia Avi, genius engineer Miki Boudreaux, and augmented soldier Faigin Balfour fought the fascist Federated Colonies for ten years, following the charismatic dissenter Jon Churchill. Then Jon disappeared, Talia was thought dead, and Miki and Faigin struggled to take Jon’s place and stay alive. When the FC is unexpectedly upended, Talia is reunited with her friends and they are given sanctuary on the enigmatic planet Refuge. The trio of former guerillas strive to recover from lifetimes of trauma, build new lives on a planet with endless horizons, and forge tender new connections with each other.

  2. Emily Ryan-Davis says:

I once saved you from a rampaging toilet, which IMO makes me forever special.

I'm SO glad this is going to be on the shelves soon. :) Barnes & Noble needs a new Victoria Janssen book!

  3. Audrey says:

I admit I've been looking forward to this book forever – that cover is just beautiful! Plus, I love pirates (well, the romanticized version of them anyway) and the idea of these characters (again, I've mentioned how droolworthy the cover is?) makes me really, kinda giddy. :p

  4. annette eaton says:

Hi love the cover and the book looks sooo interesting. Nothing special here just am.

  5. alanimarie says:

I just looked at the detail of the cover. Wow, I love the tattoos on her upper back and down her legs. ( I want one like that). Looks fabulous :)

I'm really looking forward to this one!!

  7. lnhammer says:

A sequel that roved the high sea
Is the best thing that could ever be —
                And with bosoms a-teasing,
                And seething, and heaving,
Clearly it should go to me!

  8. Karalynn Lee says:

Because I'm usually less than captivated by the notion of pirates or dukes, but the combination in your hands sounds scrumptious. Plus my bookshelves aren't nearly crowded enough. (Wait a minute…)

  9. Cara Bristol says:

Damn, it's hard to amusing on cue! I'd like to win because I like to read different books by different authors and I haven't read about a pirate queen, yet! Besides that, I have jury duty coming up and could use a good book to get me through it!

  10. addie says:

well, i DID help kyle get those awesome headshots of you…plus, i really just want to check out your work!

  11. Leia Rice says:

    I want, I want! Gimmie!

  12. Crystal Jordan says:

Let's see…I should win because I wrote our proposal for the RWA conference and made it easy for you. Is that a good enough reason? ;-)

Also, because I don't live off-planet and therefore shipping to me would be relatively less expensive. See how easy I make things for you? You're welcome!

  13. Danielle Monsch says:

I'm in my last month of pregnancy and can't move without some heavy equipment lifting me and darnit, I deserve a book!

No, not really. Still, I'd like it! Pirate queen's are cool (though granted, say the word 'pirate' to most authors these days, cool is not the word that first springs to mine).

    Congrats on the upcoming release!

  14. Sue K says:

And as for a pirate they are always just so unbelievable sexy and always a very inspiring character now matter where they come from or where they are going in the story a pirate just has that certain something that every woman wants , the ideal bad boy !

Have a nice day and thank you for giving us the opportunity to win this great prize!!

  18. Desere Steenberg says:

Sorry it would not post my full comment so here is the second half , a pirate as I said is the ideal bad boy but in the case of a pirate queen I love the idea as I think it just screams power and it would be the ultimate woman to overpower even the strongest of men weather they are a duke , a king or just a regular Joe !!

The idea is truly something new and intriging and one I have never fatomed in my mind and never heard of before ,brilliant idea for a book well done !!
