#TBR Challenge – The Hunt: All-New Wolverine Vol. 1: The Four Sisters

All-New Wolverine Vol. 1: The Four Sisters by Tom Taylor, David Lopez, and David Navarrot collects the first six issues of this comic about X-23/Laura Kinney, who was cloned from Logan/Wolverine of the X-Men. In the midst of a mission, Laura discovers she also has been cloned, and the rest of the issues involve she and her sisters on the run.

I wanted more of how Laura is distinct from her clone parent. Also, I wanted a lot more of her clone sister Gabby, who was pretty funny. It’s the “Fridge of Wolverine.” Wolverine is almost out of milk. She’s a good foil for Laura’s sarcasm. Logan/Wolverine has decades of continuity across a range of titles. I’ve been reading X-Men and Wolverine comics since middle school, and Laura is a much newer character.

All that said, having clone sisters automatically upped the stakes, because Laura was connected to them even if she’d never met them before. And there’s a lot of good dialogue along with workmanlike art, plus some fun cameos: Taskmaster, I sort of expected, but not Dr. Strange and the Wasp.

It was nice to get to some of the comics in my TBR pile!
