Panem et Circenses by littleblackfox is a mashup/alternate universe putting Crowley and Aziraphale into the Great British Bakeoff, in one of the early BBC seasons. In a world in which Armageddon didn’t happen, a year later Heaven and Hell pit their representatives against each other in a human contest. Aziraphale is enthusiastic and a Mary Berry stan. Crowley miracles his way through his first several bakes while wondering if host Sue Perkins is part demon. It’s a sweet story with romance as well as pastry.
The Pirate, The Rebels, The Thief, and Her Lover (An Unlikely, but Nevertheless Absolutely True Tale) by killabeez is a delightful crossover featuring the far-future space opera adventures of characters from Highlander: The Series, Our Flag Means Death, and Lucifer. And yes, it works.
Negotiable by eyebrowofdoom is an explicit romance story featuring James Bond and Q from the most recent Bond movies (with Daniel Craig). I think I found this one in a list of recommendations; I had never read this author before. It’s beautifully written, with sentences such as “There was a Chesterfield with a carved back that was enjoyably purgatorial against bare skin, and seemed to suggest a variety of imaginative scenarios.” I found the characterization subtle and convincing.
Zweiundachtzig by Dow is a Found Family story, an alternate universe of the movie X-Men: First Class, in which Erik is an artist with an unfortunate past who is slowly drawn into community and then into friendship and love with Charles.
Armed and Dangerous by alchemyalice is Bucky Barnes/Tony Stark slash, which I haven’t encountered all that often, but which makes a lot of sense! A good read.
